By sending a specially crafted request, an authenticated attacker could exploit this vulnerability to gain elevated privileges to resources normally protected from the user.

D-Link D-View could allow a remote attacker to bypass security restrictions, caused by the use of a hard-coded password for the remotely reachable database in the InstallApplication class. By sending a specially crafted request, an attacker could exploit this vulnerability to bypass authentication on the system.

D-Link D-View could allow a remote attacker to obtain sensitive information, caused by improper handling of XML external entity (XXE) declarations by the the addDv7Probe function. By using a specially crafted XML content, a remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability to obtain sensitive information in the context of SYSTEM, and use this information to launch further attacks against the affected system.
